Tonight, I am sitting in a park. I am listening to cars drive over the bridge; people laughing; children squealing in delight; teenagers chatting and giggling. I hear birds chirping; the hum of a motor boat; the splash of a kayak paddle. There is the distant sound of a live band performing. What a blessing for our community, an answer to so many prayers; a reflection to our trust in science and the people willing to step up and vaccinate. Here we are. Gathered together. On a beautiful evening. Seeing smiling faces for the first time in 15 months.
Blessed. Putting aside all worry, fear, uncertainty, and being in the moment. Praising the Lord for the gift of this beautiful evening of community.
